I start this out with one of my favorite quotes from Eleanor Roosevelt. Why, you might be wondering? Because it fits this space perfectly in my opinion. People always want someone to do something. Advocate for you to stream or be in this space. However, nobody warns you of the trolls. The thing is, you need tough skin to be in the industry whether you are a streamer, content creator, journalist, influencer, or model (and not no damn Instagram model!!)

As a published model, I am appalled that people think this is a thing), artist, actor, etc. You have to learn to not give in and protect your peace at that. Too many people are way too worried about what others think and allow. Yes, I said ALLOW other people to tell them how they should feel. Put it like this, my own blood relatives see me as the black sheep and the majority of them don’t like me.

Do you honestly think that I am going to let a troll, er, uh, KEYBOARD WARRIOR tell me about myself? If you know me and actually know me, then you know my words can be deadly. I am an Aquarius. So to say the least, these little keyboard warriors belittle me or come for me? Nope. I can handle whatever comes my way and there are some damn strong women in this space that stick up for not only themselves but others. (will mention them at the end), But yes seems as though I managed to go on a tangent but I am getting there! (spoiler, there will be two articles but I feel this portion needed its own little spotlight).

So Eddie did his Kick talks Saturday and let me just say I was highly disgusted. I know bbjess and I know MsSavageaf. I met both at DreamHack Dallas and saw bbjess again at Midwest Fest. I was on one of bbjess panels back in March and I can say BOTH of these women are incredible! And comfortable in their skin. But here is my problem and Lauratheexplora brought this out and it’s true.

When Sav was up, Trolls were trolling, there was no moderation. More like Eddie being that parent who wants to be the best friend when he should be the parent putting his foot down and setting boundaries. But when I went in he was speaking to bbjess and things seemed under control. Here is my thing. People say kick is bad, nothing good comes from that site. Bla, Bla, Bla.

EVERY platform has its issues. You can not blame a platform when it’s PEOPLE. there are good and bad people everywhere. But when you have one of the owners trying to do something decent but allows his chat to attack someone who was invited to share her thoughts and have a discussion and is also verified and also KCIP if I am not mistaken, there is a problem.

There should have been mods in there to shut certain shit down. As a woman in this space, it’s hard. And when you find people that can stick up for you and have your back it’s rare but good. But what happened in his stream is a prime example of why people feel how they do. And trust me I get it. I may not constantly go out here going off on everyone because sometimes it’s not worth it. But seeing someone as sweet as Sav getting attacked how she was is heartbreaking. That nobody stopped it. That Eddie laughed about it. Then it makes you think about what a certain ex-employee of Kick was saying a couple of months ago. (IYKYK). Like there is soooo much going on with Kick it’s not funny. and as I stated, good and bad.

So my question is this. If you watched it live or on the VOD or even saw clips, what are your thoughts? How do you think this is going to be fixed? Do you think it will be fixed? In my opinion, it needs to be fixed and things need to be changed. Women should not be considered easy targets for those of you needing attention because mommy and daddy neglected to give you a healthy environment to grow up in.

I have seen way too many trolls around and unfortunately, they are mainly on Kick, which sucks because I even had high hopes for this site. Hell, in my original retweet about what happened, I gained two trolls, and don’t worry you, dummies, imma posting the screenies to this article so you can have a little bit of a famous moment. I hope Eddie does something about this and can make things right because right now, the ship is somewhat sinking!

To be clear!!! bbjess and mssavageaf are BOTH amazing women! AMAZING creators! they have their own communities and do their own thing and worked hard to get where they are. instead of trying to knock or compare how about you go in there and get to know them. YES, Eddie handled things wrong by making it look like favoritism which let’s be honest, the kick is about favoritism however the way they were treated in his stream does not say anything about them meaning you need to go and get to know them, and learn for yourself instead of hopping on the troll wagon taking you to keyboard warrior camp where you can learn to be the next village idiot of sorts.
