TWITCH (@Emiru) – During one of Emiru’s scheduled meet-and-greet sessions at TwitchCon, a man breached barriers and approached her while interacting with fans, grabbed her face, and attempted to kiss her without consent. According to media reports, security intervened and the individual was removed from the venue and banned from the platform and future in-person events.

On X, Emiru herself stated:

“the person who assaulted me *was allowed to cross multiple barriers at TwitchCon and even in front of another creator’s meet-and-greet to grab me and my face and try to kiss me.”

She further criticized the official response, saying:

“In Twitch’s statement they said that the guy was immediately caught and detained. I’m sorry but that is a blatant lie. He was allowed to walk away from my meet & greet …”

Twitch issued a statement confirming that the individual involved had been removed from the venue and permanently banned from both Twitch and in-person events. They described the behavior as “completely unacceptable and deeply unsetting.”

The incident has sparked strong reactions among streamers and fans alike. Many have voiced that creator safety should be a non-negotiable priority at large in-person events. As one community post put it:

“If Twitch can’t even protect their biggest female streamer at TwitchCon… what makes you think they care about security for everyone else?”
